BROWN, Ruamie Kingsbury (1858-1947)

Mrs. Ruamie Brown, 88, a pioneer resident of Shasta County, died yesterday at the Cottage Hospital in San Rafael after a long illness. Born at Piety Hill [10 Dec 1858], now known as Igo, she was the eldest of 12 children of Charles and Agnes Kingsbury. She married Richard Brown in 1882. Following his death two years later, she lived most of her life in Igo until she moved to San Rafael to the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Curry.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the Redding Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Mt. Shasta Rebekah Lodge.

She leaves two brothers, Albert N. and Adam E. Kingsbury of Igo, and one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Cunningham of Redding; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in McDonald's chapel with the Eastern Star in charge of the service. The Rev. H. A. Luckenbach will officiate. Burial will be in the Igo Cemetery.
