1861 June 19, 4th Class Post Office established as Martin's Ferry where John F. Martin operated a ferry 2.5 miles above the junction of the Trinity and Klamath Rivers, in what was Klamath County, California.

1862 November 12, Post Office discontinued.

1865 May 22, Martin's Ferry Post Office re-established. John F. Martin, Postmaster.

1874 March 28, Post Office in Humboldt County when Klamath County dissolved.

1877 January 18, Charles Dowds, Postmaster.

1891 October 1, Post Office discontinued. Post Office moved 3 miles southeast and the name changed to Weitchpec.
