1864 May 24, 4th Class Post Office established as Copper Vale, Lassen, California, located 16 miles southwest of Susanville per the 1876 Postal Route Map. Name stems from early day copper mining.

Careton C. Goodrich, First Postmaster.

1867 October 28, Post Office discontinued.

1868 July 13, Post Office re-established with Carleton C. Goodrich as Postmaster.

1886 October 2, Post Office discontinued.

1890 June 21, Post Office re-established. with Ann E. Nanney as Postmaster.

1894 December 29, Eliza J. Thompson, Postmaster. Named changed to one word, Coppervale.

1894 December 30, San Francisco Call - Postmasters Appointed:  Coppervale, Lassen County, Eliza J. Thompson, vice Ann E. Nanney~

1901 December 19, Albert S. Brown, Postmaster. Also on this date, Post Office moved 2 miles northeast.

1914 June 30, Post Office discontinued and the service moved to Westwood.
