1895 May 11, 4th Class Post Office established as Datura, Lassen, California, located 15 miles west of Amedee. Named for a common weed growing in the area.

1898 December 14, Harriett F. Torrey, Postmaster.

1899 April 21, Post Office moved 3/4 miles west and name changed to Standish.

1899 April 21, 3rd Class Post Office established as Standish, Lassen, California located 12 miles northwest of Amedee. Name honored Miles Standish.
