Was a sawmill and shipbuilding site and now is recreational. AKA:  Bell's Harbor and Kent's Landing.

1874 August 25, Territorial Enterprise(Virginia City, Nevada) - Mendocino, August 24 - A shooting affray occurred at Little River this evening. Two men - Thomas McCann and James McCormack - had been drinking together and while in a game of billiards a dispute arose when McCann drew a four-shooter and fired the ball entering McCormack's mouth and lodging behind the ear. The wound, though serious, is not considered fatal.~
