Also known as Davis's Creek.

1877 September 26, A 4th Class Post Office established as Davis's Creek, Modoc County, California. The 's was dropped prior to April 1, 1879. Located 25 miles north of Alturas, mail was supplied from New Pine Creek, Oregon, 21 miles north. Davis was a prospectoor who discovered gold and named the creek for himself.

1898 December 10, Los Angeles Herald, Washington, Dec 7 - The following California postmasters have been appointed:  Davis creek, Modoc county, Walter Dutte (Duke?), vice George S. Ramer, resigned.

1900 October 26, San Francisco Call  - INTERESTS THE PACIFIC COAST - WASHINGTON, Oct 25 - Postmasters appointed:  California - Thomas Briles, Davis Creek, Modoc County, vice William Lemon, resigned.~

1902 May 22, Charley T. Watkins, Postmaster.

1911 November 24, Sacramento Union - ENGINE FALLS THROUGH BRIDGE - Davis Creek (Modoc Co.), Nov 23 - An engine pulling a construction train on the Nevada, California & Oregon railroad fell through the temporary bridge across Lawson Creek, ten miles north of here. No one was injured, but the locomotive is practically a complete wreck, as it fell to the creek bed. A wrecking train was brought from Reno to clear the right-of-way.~
