1886 July 9, 4th Class Post Office established as Mud Lake, Modoc County, California. Located 20 miles north of Lookout and 30 miles south of Cornell.

Lester G. Brownell, first postmaster.

1888 December 20, P O discontinued.

1889 January 14,  Mud Lake Post Office re-established. Serena Fleener, Postmaster.

1889 January 31, unofficial name change to Fleener.

1889 February 28, P O name changed to Fleener.

Serena Fleener, first postmaster of name changed post office..

1889 February 23, Pacific Rural Press - Postoffices have been established at Fleener, Modoc County with Mrs. S.A. Fleener as postmaster.

1889 March 1, Sacramento Daily Union - MUD LAKE NO LONGER -Washington, February 28th - The name of the Postoffice at Mud Lake, Modoc county, has been changed to Fleener, in honor of Postmaster Serena A. Fleener.~

1893 June 30, Post Office discontinued and mail service moved to Craig.
