1909 February 4, 4th Class Post Office establsihed as Hoag, Modoc County, California, located 7 miles northwest of Fort Bidwell. Named for Daniel Hoag, an army scout and prospector, killed in skirmish with the Indians in the 1860's.

Patick O'Conner, First  and Only Postmaster.

1911 January 31, Post Office closed and the service moved to Fort Bidwell.
