1871 July 3, 4th Class Post Office established as Willow Ranch, Siskiyou County, California, located 8 miles south of New Pine Creek, Oregon. The stream, Willow creek was nearby. The place was also a trading post and travelers stop on the way to Oregon.

1874  February 17, Modoc County created, so Willow Ranch now in Modoc County.

1874 June 27, Marysville Daily Appeal - MAIL ROUTE TO MODOC COUNTY - ". . .The mail from Susanville to Willow Ranch will be carried twice a week each way, leaving Susanville on Monday and Thursday, and Willow Ranch on the same days. . ."~

1882 December 4, P O discontinued.

1883 January 24, P O re-established, with George  W. Pleasants as Postmaster.
