Mrs. Hattie Smith Breslauer, 86, a lifetime resident of Shasta County, died at her home at 1105 Market Street [Redding] yesterday [6 July 1961] after a lengthy illness.

She was born Nov. 27, 1874. Mrs. Breslauer was a 50-year member of Redding Chapter 44, Order of the Eastern Star.

She leaves two nieces, Mrs. Helen Larkin of Red Bluff and Mrs. Irma Bachtold of Redding, a nephew, William S. Boggs of Redding and a brother-in-law, Louis Breslauer of San Francisco. 

Services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at McDonald's Chapel. The Order of Eastern Star will officiate.

Burial will be in Redding Cemetery.

[Hattie was the daughter of Thomas Burton Smith and Martha Ann McFarlin Smith. Hattie was born in Igo, Shasta, California. Her husband, David with brother Samuel Breslauer, owned The Hub Clothing Store for over 40 years. Hattie and David did not have children.]
