WHEELOCK, Mary Emma "Minnie" Boyce (1865 - 1953)

Mrs. Mary Emma Wheelock, 87, a Shasta pioneer, died early this morning at her home in Redding. She was born in Shasta Oct. 11, 1865.

Her parents came to California early in the 1850's, migrating across the continent in a covered wagon.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at McDonald's Chapel with the Rev. Ernest J. Troutner officiating. Interment will be at the family plot in Redding Cemetery.

Mrs. Wheelock leaves a daughter, Mrs. Eva Hoover, a teacher at Magnolia School, and a granddaughter, Nancy Hoover, a student nurse in San Francisco. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Grace Masterson of Redding and numerous nieces and nephews.~

["Minnie" Boyce was the daughter of John and Bridget Solen Boyce. She married Charles Douglas Wheelock (1861-1926) on 24 Dec 1885. The couple had two daughters:  Mabel J. (1886-1886) and Eva Ruth Wheelock Hoover (1897-1971)]
