1851 August 11, licensed by the Shasta County Court of Sessions for Clear Creek (exact location not specified) for Mr. Young.~

1853 November 12, Shasta Courier, Shasta, California - NOTICE - Is hereby given, that the undersigned will, at the December term of the Court of Sessions, within and for the County of Shasta and State of California, apply for a license to keep a toll bridge across Clear Creek, in Cottonwood Township, in said county of Shasta, at a point on said creek about one mile and a quarter above the mouth of said creek, to which place he is about remaining under a lease from Alex. Young. This bridge is now owned and kept by said Young as a toll bridge near the mouth of said creek. Signed:  Eleazer Gilson. Oct. 29, 1853.~
