Ferry:  Fender's

1939 June 2, Sacramento Bee - MAN RESCUES WIFE FROM PIT RIVER - Redding, Shasta County, June 2 - Eugene Doll of Redding plunged into the Pit River just as his wife, Anna Doll, was going down for the second time, and rescued her near Fender's Ferry.

Mrs. Doll was attempting to swim the seventy yard stream when she suffered a cramp half way across. Her husband kept her afloat until the arrival of Joseph Yeager in a boat.~
